Why Adolescents Act The Way They Do

Why?!

Three amazing how's and one amazing why! It's an answer that science continually theorizes. Why? Why? Why?

Four things I'll never understand...in our modern days we have pretty much answered the how questions, but parents like me may never get to the bottom of why!

As we are vacationing with our teen sons the why is a constant swirl in my head! So many whys!!! I know that someday I'll long for more time and I'm thankful for the moments and I still wonder why much of the time. I'll never understand either!

Instead of understanding I'll continue to love. I'll continue to prod and train and mentor and lead. I'll pray and talk and suffer and plug my ears and my nose. I'll listen and watch and support and encourage. I'll learn and change and give and cry. And I'll never know why.

And I'll escape to Starbucks for a Triple Tall Black Americano as often as life allows!

Today, instead of asking why, I'm going to focus on how to best love the adolescents in my life. It's a choice upfront to better love them and to hold them close when they make no sense at all!
